The club is currently working towards the CLUBMARK accreditation. To gain accreditation, the club must fulfil criteria in the areas of club management, coaching and competition, equity and ethics, and health and safety. Once all the criteria are fulfilled and assessed by the national governing body, the club will be awarded CLUBMARK status and will be able to access a number of benefits including: a higher profile on the BTF website and in the handbook, CLUBMARK logo for use on all club paperwork, CLUBMARK certificate and shield, discounts on BTF regional workshops, discounts on SportscoachUK, Running Sport workshops, and much more.

Alex Arrowsmith Exiting Swim London 2005

In addition, the Club has embarked on a Club Development Programme to ensure we have sufficient BT qualified coaches to cater for the needs of all our athletes. Subject to Committee approval, the Club reimburses part of the coaching fee for existing and prospective coaches who have demonstrated their commitment to coaching at the Club.

The club name is derived from the local area to represent and reflect the local community.  It is from the Meynell Valley and surrounding areas of Burton-on-Trent, Uttoxeter and Lichfield that this club will gain its sense of identity and strength and then promote the area through the participation in some of the most prestigious triathlon events within the UK, Europe and the world.  This triathlon club respects the ideals, culture and the way of life around the countryside area of East & South Staffordshire, we aim to promote that way of life through our conduct and participation of all the events we enter.
